Hi Everyone! It’s been ages since we have gotten together but the end is in sight! First, please accept my apology for not doing a better job staying in touch there has been a problem getting logged in to our website so there was no way to set up a new newsletter. Many thanks to Sandra King for not only setting up our website but for figuring out the problem and fixing it.
As we all know far too well this entire pandemic has been confusing, frustrating, boring, maddening and several other things and that’s before the first drink of the day. For a while Potentate Ed Sexton was planning on having a June stated meeting then the Grand Lodge of Florida had decided to postpone opening until July then yesterday they decided June 1st again. I am concerned about the average age of our membership but would really like to have a June meeting but will discuss it with the board when we meet next week. I would also like everyone else’s opinion before we have that meeting, so please email me or call me to let me know what you think. My biggest concern is serving the food in a buffet line with shared utensils. I’m also not sure how to gauge how many people will show up so unsure how much food we will need. We will probably be checking temperatures at the door and asking everyone to use hand sanitizer at the front desk (assuming we can find some) and probably some other common sense things such as setting up more tables and only allowing a limited number of people at each table. Currently there is a Bahia Stated Meeting as scheduled for June with similar health safeguards in place. At least we have newly decorated bathrooms with working sinks at our building 🙂
